And at the rate Cuenod is going, he just might make 110:) Cпасибо.Edmund St. Austellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14490721790447218365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6166918155946600787.post-89486709479255122822010-04-11T14:24:46.075-04:002010-04-11T14:24:46.075-04:00Sometimes singing is so skillful and noble, that ...Sometimes singing is so skillful and noble, that size of the voice doesn’t matter. Cuenod reminds me of Georgy Vinogradov, whose voice was too small opera theater., but he sang on the radio and in concerts and many of his recordings are masterpieces. I totally agree with everything you wrote about Cuenod, he is a unique singer. He sang Wozzeck too without any damage for his voice – a master.
And of course his age is unbelievable. I hope he’ll celebrate his 108, 109, 110th birthdays.

n.a.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6166918155946600787.post-79956538509508232882010-04-10T21:46:04.440-04:002010-04-10T21:46:04.440-04:00Yes, my friend, exactly. I know it seems strange to say, because none of us can know exactly what music from hundreds of years ago actually sounded like, but there is something--hard to define--that is absolutely convincing about his rendition of these ancient songs.Edmund St. Austellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14490721790447218365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6166918155946600787.post-13582192162916283222010-04-10T16:01:01.068-04:002010-04-10T16:01:01.068-04:00once again: spot-on. a small voice, yes, but fresh...once again: spot-on. a small voice, yes, but fresh, pure, and beautiful.coraxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03645573592247798140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6166918155946600787.post-89234298389787120032010-04-10T15:00:18.105-04:002010-04-10T15:00:18.105-04:00Aha! If you look him up, you can find pictures of him sitting both inside and outside his family's 18th century castle. They've been around a while. He was a wonderful singer in his day.
